A Connection

There was a connection Takumi felt with Kiba. Right now he couldn’t quite put it into words, but it was very much present.

Every time he saw Kiba, something deep within his heart stirred. For the first time in who knew how long, Takumi felt the burning urge to truly get to know someone. He wanted to be his friend.

Right now the two sat together in the park. Savoring the beautiful weather, under a lovely blue sky with clouds scattered about. Seeing that smile of his too… It always warmed Takumi’s soul.

Before Kiba, he didn’t know who else he could be vulnerable to. Takumi wasn’t super open. Though with him, he was able to actually put his walls down somewhat. Whenever they were together, he felt more at ease. The ever present weight on his shoulders melted away—as if it was never there to begin with.

Takumi could just be whenever he was around him.

Nobody else made him feel this way. While he did have friends, Kiba was someone special. Even with Mari or Keitaro, there was so much he had to tuck away. Especially being an Orphnoch.

Though nobody could know that. Not even Kiba. That was a secret Takumi was intent on taking to his grave. Even then, he felt he could still truly be himself with Kiba. Barring this one secret of course.

If he learned… Who knew how he would feel. It could ruin everything that was building up between the two of them. So Takumi was more than content with keeping this aspect of him close to his chest forever.

Deep in his soul, Takumi felt that what he had with Kiba was special. He hoped their relationship could continue to grow—and that maybe he even felt the same.

Only with time, would he be able to see if this was the case.

Takumi looked up towards the sky, laying on the cool grass. The clouds slowly made their way past across the vibrant blue. It was a perfect day.

Taking in a deep breath, he still felt a sense of longing in his heart.

He wished that things somehow could have ended differently between him and Kiba. That he’d be next to him today, right here and right now, and the two of them would be able to share this beautiful sight together.

Even though the two of them were the same, they both turned out to be Orphnoch, in the end their ideals were vastly different. Perhaps they could have walked down the same path together in another timeline. Truly being able to share life and all it had to offer with each other.

If such a thing was ever possible to begin with however… Takumi still wasn’t sure.
