Sorry for the lack of updates here! I've been working on a longfic since May, and that's taken up much of my writing time and energy lately. It's been making steady progress though. Hope to post it sometime later this year. Thought I'd do one of these prompts as a little warm-up and change of pace. Originally posted on 2025-07-29.

Summary: She doesn’t want to forget this feeling of freedom.

She doesn’t want to forget this feeling of freedom. The sensation of wind as it blew across her face, a rush of colors and sounds while walking throughout the city. It’s better than she could have ever dreamed of.

Lachesis looked back to what Clotho yelled out in rage and sorrow once, how families should “stick together”. But what Glion created wasn’t a family, it never could have been.

The three of them were nothing but mere tools for him. Beings created from flesh and clay whose sole purpose was to further plans of a golden utopia. A world where eternity ruled over all. Nothing ever changing, time at a standstill. As how he felt things should be.

He would have never granted any of their wishes—not without the monkey’s paw curling a finger. Not unless there was something for him to gain.

There was a human saying Lachesis heard one day that on how a child should respect their parents. Though Glion would only call himself a father for the illusion of a family. A title to only grant himself more power, not to be the caretaker of any of his creations.

It was a cruel move, but one befitting of a man such as himself.

Everything was different now however. She was free and able to live a human life to the fullest. There could have been a chance for her to achieve something similar as a homunculus, but to Lachesis becoming human was a way to show defiance.

A way to break free, and prove to not only Glion but also herself that she could be and was more than the purpose he created her for.

Lachesis bit back at the hands that forged and fed her. The very ones that brought forth life into the corpse of a woman Glion had only met once before. Breaking through the chains that were secretly present from the moment of her creation.

Her next move, she would bring her sisters back and provide them that same freedom. They deserved to be able to experience it alongside her too.
