Atropos didn’t first understand why humans gravitated towards “social media”. Human connection at all in any form seemed pointless. An easy way to form weakness that could be easily exploited, as shown by that Ichinose.
But her time infiltrating the website known as “Tumblr” had shown her the ways in such methods of communication could be used to her advantage. At last, the computer they stole from Furasu High was turning out to be quite useful. Clotho was just a bad day away from making it a hunk of scrap.
She’d watched Rinne in the shadows for long enough to have been able to easily track down her account. After much lurking and observation, she’d realize this website could be used to not only throw off Rinne, but further her own plans in the process.
It had grown rather addictive. Sending anonymous messages antagonizing her. Creating multiple accounts to send barrages of hate her way, and avoiding blocks.
Just why did this girl keep the anon option turned on still after all of this? What an absolute fool. Not that it would stop the waves of hatemail.
Lachesis and Clotho would watch over her shoulder from time to time. At first they didn’t react much, just like Atropos they found little use in social media. But over time they would become rather amused, once it was evident just how much this online harassment campaign affected Rinne in the real world.
Whenever Rinne’s friends would jump in with their own accounts, only fueling the flames—it made things even better. Using the internet like this… Atropos had begun to see the appeal.
Rinne clicked open her ask box, half excited and half fearful. This would either be a meme from Ichinoise, or more anon hate.
“You’re the most pathetic excuse for a person I’ve ever seen.”
Yup. More anon hate.
Rinne sighed and deleted the ask.
She had an inkling as to just who this could be. Though without proof there wasn’t much she could do. Not to mention what good would calling this person out even do? If it truly was Atropos, it’s not like she was going to stop. That girl was dead set on antagonizing her.
The internet was supposed to be her escape from everything… Her duty as a Kamen Rider to fight and save the world. The battle to defeat Glion and The Abysallis Sisters—however now all of her daily struggles were following her into the web!
“Ugh…” Rinne groaned. Putting her face into her hands. No matter what she did, it wouldn’t end!
A knock on the door.
Going to open it up, it was Ichinose.
“Kudo!” He beamed. Having that big smile of his.
“Ichinose? Why are you here?”
“Can’t a friend just show up to say hi?” He walked inside and took his shoes off. As he walked into the house, he saw that familiar blue dashboard on Rinne’s computer. “Oh…”
Rinne shook her head. “Please don’t worry about it.”
His expression became one of concern, placing a hand on Rinne’s shoulder. “Is that anon bothering you again?”
She was silent, but it said more than enough. Ichinose sighed and walked over to the computer, exiting out of Tumblr.
“Hey be careful—!”
“Don’t worry about them right now.” The gears visibly began to turn in his head. Deep in thought, before he looked up to her. “How about we go outside? Go get some crepes or something? My treat!”
“You sure about that?”
“Yeah! It looks like you need a break anyways.”
…Ichinose was right. A break would be the best route to take. Especially since Atropos wasn’t going to stop being a troll anytime soon. The best way to get back at her would to live her life as she usually would, and eventually best her in battle.
Rinne nodded with a smile. “Sure. Thanks Ichinose.”
Both of them put their shoes back on and promptly went off to enjoy a nice break somewhere far, far away from the computer.
