I really loved the idea of the Fantastical&Cosmic Chemies adopting Rinne! Though along the way of working on this it turned out to be just Unicon and The Sun. So I hope thats ok! I really wish we got some interactions with them and Rinne, so this was fun to do. Same for the Chemy POV!
Summary: It must be tough to have an absent father.
Also On: Ao3, Dreamwidth
As Unicon rested in its card, it began to think as it looked over to Rinne. She was fast asleep. The book her father gave her was on the bedside table.
It must be tough to have an absent father. A figure important to many human lives.
Unicon could only begin to imagine what Rinne had to go through all these years as his whereabouts continued to be unknown. The immense loneliness. The lack of warmth to arrive to when coming home from school.
Even with having a creator as their origin point, chemies still had no real concept of parental figures in their own lives. Outside of Dragonalos and Gaiard they were artificial beings created by sheer chance through the power of alchemy. Their very existence left a surprise to the humans around them, and themselves.
Despite this, Unicon and The Sun wanted to do everything they could for Rinne. To be there for her in good times and bad. They owed so much to her. She was their friend. To be able to give her the power to fight, to help her accomplish her dream of being an alchemist who can make everyone happy…
Both of them wanted to give their all to help her accomplish this dream. And to give her that companionship and a feeling of warmth that was gone from most of her life.
In the moments of downtime she did have, both from being a student and a Kamen Rider, they would provide that for her. Happily spending time with her at her home. She’d tell them countless things. About her day, her homework, the friends she had made along these past months… That last part especially brought joy to both chemies.
Unicon wanted the best for her. It knew The Sun did too. Both of them took it upon themselves to give to Rinne what her father could not. They would be everything for Rinne that her father could only dream to be. This was both their goal.
The chemies’ train of thought was interrupted as Rinne murmured in her sleep, tossing and turning around. It was hard to make out exactly what she was saying. Unicon didn’t know what exactly she was dreaming about, but from her tone she sounded distressed.
Without hesitation both chemies left their cards and rushed to her bedside.
Rinne sleepily opened her eyes. Smiling wide as she saw her two friends. The warmth in her expression brought both strong feelings of happiness and relief to the chemies. “Thank you both. I was just having a bad dream.”
“Unicon…” It brought its head down to Rinne and gently nuzzled her. More feelings of happiness formed within as it heard her giggle.
Then The Sun dimly lit up, radiating a soft and calming heat to help lull her back to sleep. “The Sun.”
Rinne smiled once more as her eyes slowly closed. “Thank you…” Gradually drifting back into sleep as the minutes passed on by, just as the two had hoped for.
Both of them stayed by her side for the rest of the night after that.
