Summary: Ken continues his quest to find Asuka's killer.

Hitching a ride in the back of a trailer thanks to a generous old man, Ken was off to the next town. It was sundown, the sky filled with warm colors as the sun set across the horizon. Still on the hunt for whoever killed Asuka.

Feeling a small breeze drift on through, he was left alone with his thoughts. His feelings. The same old song and dance as it had been for some time. Strumming a tune on the guitar.

The song he played was the same as always— The one Asuka wrote. Whose lyrics were etched deeper and deeper into his heart, with each and every passing day.

Ken remembered his smile. The kindness he’d show to others. Their youth, and all of their countless adventures together. Moments they shared together throughout both of their lives.

Who killed you?

This was the question that was always in Ken’s thoughts. It left him restless inside, rendering him unable to find any semblance of peace. He wouldn't be able to have a moment where he could truly be at ease…

Until he could find that answer, and avenge Asuka himself.

Ken remembered their vow— And intended to keep his word.

End Notes: Started Kaiketsu Zubat recently, 10 episodes in and I love it to bits so far and had to write something! Feels so good for my soul to see some Showa toku.
