Speak
The moment Ichinose opened his mouth, blabbering about how one day he’d make a world where humans would coexist with chemies—mere tools, Spanner knew the boy was unfit to be a Kamen Rider as well as an alchemist.
Touch
Minato leaned into Spanner’s hand as it gently laid across his cheek, melting into his touch while his expression immediately softened and he let out a sigh, a wonderful sight that only Spanner had the privilege to witness.
Memory
He understood in theory why Kyoka suppressed the painful memories of his parents being killed right before his very eyes, but even still, the flames deep within his core blazed with fury, he could have become stronger if she never did such a thing this entire time.
Vanilla
Kyoka’s birthday was coming up, and while the vanilla frosting for the cake was perfectly sweet it needed something extra—Spanner reached for the purple dye across the counter.
Chocolate
He had received countless chocolates throughout the entirety of Valentine’s Day from his underclassmen, out of politeness Spanner didn’t refuse them, doing such was against his virtues, but there was only one person that his heart was set out for…
Ways and Means
Along with his duties for the alchemist union, he had to stay on Kudo Rinne’s good side in order to get information on Fuga for Kyoka, which should be easy enough, there were plenty of ways to do just that.
Belief
The natural order had to be upheld for the greater good and continued balance of the world, this was something Spanner felt deep in his heart and be a principle that he would never waver on.
Linger
As time passed on and the battle against Glion progressed, the continued incompetence shown by the union made doubts begin to form and linger in the depths of his mind—was he working for the right people in the end?
Luminance
When his ring would emit a purple glow when transmuting materials, the light was truly something beautiful, silently, Spanner thanked his parents for this gift.
Ornament
Kyoka dragged him to Ichinose’s restaurant for Christmas dinner, and once they walked inside it was impossible to miss the vintage ornaments that decorated the tree.
Coup de foudre
During training Spanner couldn’t help but notice Minato’s physique as he continued to spar with his sword, and it felt as if something shifted within his core, lighting striking his heart.
Archway
Under the archway hidden away from the prying eyes of the commonfolk, Kyoka had sent a message through the chemyriser, excitedly letting him know of the next chemies’ whereabouts, it was time to move.
Fate
Once he’d learned that the black flames originated from Gigist, his worst fears had come straight to life—in that moment it felt he was fated to forever be nothing more than a monster, someone who was beyond hope.
Pulse
As the valvarusher cut through the armor of dread, flame and sparks sprayed everywhere while Minato was inside, Spanner could feel his blood pulsate and rush throughout every second, but he made sure to avoid Minato’s vitals.
Envelope
He opened the envelope to see a letter from the union, they requested him to go to the academy at once, all of the chemies had been unsealed, and this was an urgent matter that required immediate attention from as many as they could get.
Cold
Spanner couldn’t believe that Minato had paired up with Glion, there had to be something going on, the warmth in his eyes and demeanor to everyone was replaced with a coldness that was uncharacteristic of him.
Need
At all costs Spanner knew he needed to become stronger, he had to, Ichinose was undoubtedly growing in skill, and now Kudo Rinne had become a Rider too—the fact he had fallen behind them filled him with shame and frustration that was unlike anything else he’d felt before.
Drunk
Kyoka flopped straight onto the couch, the bottle of whiskey on the countertop made it obvious as to why she did so, Spanner draped his jacket over her as she started to doze off so she’d stay warm.
Mask
His virtues kept him from losing himself, a mask that Kyoka created that was supposed to protect him from the very trauma that was intertwined with his past.
Rose
Glancing over to the Flayrose card on the desk, the chemy wiggled with glee inside and chirped as Hotaro chatted to it, what did Ichinose even see in those things?
Two
It was clear to see how Ichinose and Kudo were in sync during battle, the two of them working together as a well oiled machine against countless malgams—as for Spanner, he didn’t need anyone.
Fresh
Each of the groceries Lachesis picked up for Kyoka were at the peak of freshness, Spanner already knew that the dinner he’d cook was sure to be a treat.
Bribe
The fact that Glion had bribed members of the alchemist union before his true colors were shown didn’t surprise Spanner in the slightest, nor did the fact the higher ups even accepted those bribes.
Error
As he tinkered away with the valvarusher in Kyoka’s lab, it didn’t take too long to see what was the cause of the error in the card reader.
Appetite
Kyoka wanted to treat him and Minato to some ramen at a nearby cart outside the apartment, Spanner was starting to feel hungry, so he accepted such a generous offer.
Refrain
For the past year it took everything within Spanner’s body to refrain from punching Ichinose whenever he went on about his nonsense, now that they were about to fight he could finally take a year’s worth of frustrations out.
Family
Spanner glanced over to the portrait of him and his parents, his heart stirred, knowing he got to see them one last time after he became a rider.
Grieve
Slowly he placed the flowers down onto the grave, he and Kyoka stood silently, allowing themselves to finally truly grieve over the loss of his parents after all this time.
Vapor
This situation was getting dangerous and fast—he needed to find a way to get out of this toxic mist before the poison would begin to take effect.
Tea
For the first time in what had felt like ages Spanner had time to relax, sipping a cup of tea he would call Minato to see if he wanted to come over.
Medicine
Carefully pouring the medicine into Minato’s mouth, it was a good thing he was around to help out during a time like this, and Minato knew Spanner wouldn’t leave his side until he was back in prime condition.
Moth
Looking over to the moths fluttering by the lantern, Spanner knew summer had finally arrived.
Perfect
As Minato praised his perfect stance while training his combat alchemy, Spanner felt a strong sense of pride, as well as an indescribable feeling form within his gut.
Rope
Tying the ropes around Minato with great care, Spanner also put his all into crafting the knots, and making sure it was against his body with just the right amount of tightness, seeing him bound like this was simply beautiful.
Wind
Spanner was surprised to see that Fuga had been a Kamen Rider himself all this time, carrying the name of “Kamen Rider Wind” as he beat the dragon malgam senseless.
Crossroads
Ichinose and him had come to a crossroad after the commonfolk had learned about everything, their paths were about to diverge, and a brutal clash of their beliefs was without a doubt soon to follow.
Summer
Fireworks colored the night sky, sparking and shimmering in countless colors as everyone looked up to admire them, quietly, Spanner slid his hand into Minato’s.
Candy
Who was that strange boy that gave him these gummies after saving his life, and why did he have his driver attached to his body—he’d never get answers to these questions, but these gummies surprisingly tasted good.
Photograph
Kyoka wanted to take a new photo with him to test out this printing service, Spanner figured he’d humor her.
Spoon
Putting the spoonful of Ichinose’s omurice into his mouth, it was the most disgusting thing he’d eaten in ages—but wasting food was against his virtues, he scarfed everything down to get it over with, but hated every moment of it.
Forest
Deep inside a chemy was said to be spotted here, but as he continued to step deeper and deeper into the woods with nothing in sight, he wondered if that report was inaccurate.
Mirror
Spanner admired Minato’s beauty as they were both reflected into the mirror across the room, his hair messy, lips swollen from countless kisses, moaning softly and gripping the sheets as Spanner entered him.
Smoke
As smoke came out of the beaker, the liquid inside bubbled furiously as a chemical reaction took place, in the end it looked like this transmutation was a success.
Shine
Polishing his ring, Spanner could see his reflection in it, albeit a bit distorted as it shone under the light of the ceiling.
Balloon
Kyoka had made sure to fill the apartment with tons of purple balloons for his birthday, as well as ordered a massive spread from his favorite restaurant for the two of them as well as Minato to share.
Vine
The grip from the vines of Lachesis’ malgam grew tighter and tighter, and Spanner could feel himself slowly start to lose consciousness.
Butterfly
Gengenchoucho was another one of the multiple chemies Renge and Sabimaru had caught on their recent mission, they had proved to be quite the chemy hunting duo indeed.
Gloves
Preparing to get onto his motorbike, Spanner tightened his leather gloves, and could see that Minato was unable to take his eyes off of him.
Venom
Venomdake proved to be too much for Ichinose as he expected, Spanner lurked in the background and watched him attempt to battle poorly, Apparebushido fought him too and refused to cooperate—what a ridiculous joke.
Remain
To see that any followers of Glion remained at all, and be part of the alchemist union no less, working in secret to bring back their fallen master—it all made Spanner feel sick to his stomach.
