Summary: Hotaro and Rinne study together.

The array of books across the table left Hotaro in awe. You could see the age of each one, yellowed pages and all. It almost felt like something from straight out of a fantasy movie.

Rinne surprised Hotaro by bringing in some of her old alchemy books to the classroom. She remembered how hard he was studying, so why not have a study session together?

Looking at all the books and overwhelmed with choice, he didn’t know where to possibly begin. “Kudo, which one do you recommend I read first? There’s so many of them…”

Rinne handed him a book with a blue cover and gold foil decorating its edges. So fancy!

“This one is the best to start with.” Opening the book and flipping through its pages, the aroma of which reminded her of her youth. And all those hours of reading. These books belonged to her father.

She still had so much she needed to say to him — but that was for another day.

“Thank you Kudo!” He flipped to the first page and began to read. Hopper1 climbed up his shoulder, wanting to get a look of its own of what the pages contained.

Rinne had a small smile as she picked out her book. It was nice to spend some time like this together with her friend. Overall they hadn’t had much time to study alchemy while catching all the chemies. As well as dealing with various threats.

She remembered that notebook he made, all the notes carefully written inside. Rinne had faith Hotaro could become a powerful alchemist. All he needed was to study some more, and then get some practice in.

Beginning to read her own book, the pair enjoyed the comfortable silence of the classroom.

With some commentary from Hopper1 here and there.
