Summary: Ankh and Eiji wait around in the attic during the slow hours of a rainy day.

It was a cool, rainy February day. They were already in the slow hours of their shift, plus with the downpour outside Chiyoko didn’t expect many customers today due to the rain outside. So Ankh and Eiji were allowed to just relax in the attic for now. If she needed them, she’d call for them.

Valentine’s day was coming, so to help pass the time and to celebrate the occasion Chiyoko was prepping up chocolates downstairs - as well as chocolate dipped ice cream bars for Ankh. Eiji had wanted to help do some prep work, but Chiyoko insisted that they take a break. And promised a taste test once everything was set.

Up in the attic, the two sat on Eiji’s bed. The sound of each raindrop hitting across the roof of the attic could be heard. Eiji was wrapped between Ankh’s arms and legs as he preened at Eiji’s hair. The talons of his Greeed arm gently combed through.

Patting his hand gently on Ankh’s human hand, then Eiji slowly began to hold it. “Just make sure to not tear my scalp with those, alright?”

“Tch. Like doing that would do me any good right now, idiot.” Sneering as he held Eiji’s hand in return.

Eiji had good reason to believe by this point that Ankh wasn’t going to tear his scalp apart, but he couldn’t help but give a friendly reminder there.

Nevertheless, it was relaxing to be preened like this. Ankh was surprisingly gentle with the movements of his talons, Feeling the sensation of them move across through his hair with such grace put him at ease. Combined with the warmth of Ankh’s body pressed behind him, Eiji felt like he could almost fall asleep.

Almost. Because Ankh then spoke up, his sharp tone of voice woke him right up. “Oi, Eiji. When will the ice cream be ready?” Continuing to preen at his hair, he grumbled. “Chiyoko needs to hurry up.”

Eiji chuckled in response. Sometimes when Ankh was being petulant, it could be adorable in scenarios like this. Emphasis on sometimes.

“Ankh, Chiyoko’s been done for a while. Remember, the chocolate needs to set and harden before we can eat it.” He still held Ankh’s human hand, beginning to gently stroke it with his thumb.

Clicking his tongue again, “Well then the chocolate needs to hurry up.” The ‘hurry up’ became muffled as he began to bite at his earlobe from behind mid sentence.

Eiji began to laugh again right before he felt Ankh bite him, “That’s not how it works— Hey!” Feeling some slight warmth begin to form on his cheeks. Ankh paid no mind to him, and just kept biting the rest of his ear. Then the other one. And then moved on to the back of his neck, nibbling at the skin in the way he knew Eiji liked.

This wasn’t the first time Ankh bit Eiji out of the blue. Nor would it be the last. Right now he really reminded Eiji of a pet bird, biting away for any attention. He sighed, a mixture of resigning himself to this situation, and because it felt nice. Eiji enjoyed the sensations of Ankh biting him more than he’d like to admit.

He turned around, Ankh uttering a little “Huh?” before Eiji intertwined his other hand with Ankh’s greeed one, feeling the talons press into his skin. Gently kissing him as Ankh was pushed back against the wall of the bedroom. He could feel Ankh’s smile as he returned the kiss.

Before they could continue any further, suddenly Chiyoko called from downstairs with a cheery tone. “Come on down boys! The chocolates are ready!”

Ankh perked up, his attention unsurprisingly now elsewhere. Which wasn’t surprising, since ice cream was just across the horizon. But just because he could, Ankh bit Eiji’s lip one last time with a smirk before sauntering downstairs.

And because he knew Eiji liked that too.

Thankfully at least that one didn’t leave any mark. Wrapping up his neck with a scarf, he hid the ones that he did notice were on his neck from the glance of a nearby desk mirror.

Chiyoko didn’t need to see that.
