Stroking his calloused fingers gently across armor which was forged in the shape of feathers from intricate processes within the art of alchemy, leathery skin and scales that was nothing but inhuman but still radiated a living heat, his most gorgeous creation was now completed— and he was one step closer to achieving the godhood he so intensely desired.
Ankh suddenly woke up, brought into the world by being harshly and greedily grasped away from a dream where he flew freely among the other birds of the world, and him as their king, taking in the vastness of the world and the thrill of life that freedom provided.
The King cupped his hand across the irregularly shaped side of Ankh's head and traced his fingers across each and every edge, taking in the feeling what was the culmination of tireless work of the land's finest alchemists for his ultimate goal, which only the pieces continued to fall into place— at the unfathomable cost of Ankh's ability to feel whole.
