Summary: So much has changed in just these past few rounds.

Everything has turned upside down. Out of everything that has happened in his tenure in the DGP, nothing could have prepared Ace for this. Well, even the producers obviously weren’t ready for this.

Ace couldn’t help but smirk at the thought. Niram now carries this tense air around him. Before he was calm and confident, feeling as if everything was going by his design. And for the most part, it was. But now you can’t help but feel at some point, he’s going to crack.

It’s inevitable.

He could only smirk at it for so long though. Because all of this throws a wrench into his own plans too. It’s not as fun to imagine the rage of the producer when remembering that, you know? But that’s how this situation is.

Until then all DGP activities are on hold. The dezastar voting is halted, for now. Somehow, inexplicably… He couldn’t help but feel a bit relieved.

Tycoon, Na-Go.

At this point he’d spent the past handful of rounds with them both. Getting to know them both over time. Their likes, dislikes, their desires… He’s been in this game for a while. Riders tend to come and go. It’s not everyday you’d see a familiar face return, like Sae or Daichi.

Even then it’s even more uncommon to get to know anyone in the DGP to a level like this. There’s still a barrier of separation, which makes sense. This is a free-for-all in the end. Only one can win, and Ace swore it was going to be him. Can’t afford to get attached.

Despite keeping as much to himself as possible, Keiwa still knew that Ace wasn’t the dezastar. Noting that Ace wouldn’t ever leave a trail behind. It takes a sharp eye, and getting to know someone quite well to be able to observe that.

Plus, there was when they both outwitted him that one time… Ace couldn’t help but smile a bit when revisiting that memory.

And then there was Buffa.

Him dying in his arms was an image that somehow itched itself deep into Ace’s mind. Death was something Ace had grown a bit used to. That’s what comes with the territory of being in this game for so long. And yet…

Even if Michinaga hated his guts with a burning passion, it’s not the same without his venomous remarks around.

There was quite the battle ahead of them. The entire game Ace got to know so intimately by this point had been completely flipped. All within an instant.

But a fox can adapt.

And this time around, he does have some allies he can rely on. Even if only for now. Na-Go was still the dezastar, and yet there was a hunch he could count on her. Same for Tycoon.

Interesting. The balance between keeping his distance, and trust in his allies— It was becoming a little bit blurrier now.

So much had changed in just these past few rounds. Both in everyone, and in him.

End Notes: It was only a matter of time before I did something with this OT4! I was trying to figure out what to do with this prompt, then the latest episode gave me ideas. (Still trying to get a hang of these characters, but I am getting there! :D)
