Summary: During a morning run, Godai wants to ask Ichijo something.

Morning runs with Ichijo were the best. Godai came back into town to visit, Ichijo and him did them each and every morning together. It was especially great without the weight of the unidentified on their backs. Making each step feel lighter, as they ran across the city.

Taking a rest at a park bench, Ichijo handed over a water bottle. The sweetest of smiles across his face.

Grinning back, “Thanks, Ichijo-san!” Taking a few hearty swigs from it. It felt so refreshing, instantly cooling him down as well.

In a few days, Godai was going off on another one of his adventures. But this time he had a new idea in mind. He wanted to take Ichijo with him for this adventure.

A little vacation would do him good, you know? Always working so hard, barely taking a break. Everyone who knew them both would always go on to Godai about how Ichijo needed to loosen up a bit.

An adventure, together, would be perfect for that. At least he thought so anyway. Hopefully Ichijo would agree to the idea.

He knew Ichijo all too well by now… How his co-workers and superiors would feel about it, it would be the first thing that crossed his mind. Planning ahead, Godai asked if they’d allow it. And they were very receptive! So it would all be okay.

“Hey, Ichijo-san.”

“Yes?”

“I was thinking…” Looking up to the sky, “I’m heading off on my next adventure soon. But I have an idea.”

Slightly raising a brow, Ichijo was curious. Taking a sip of his water.

Turning his head back to his boyfriend, Godai had that warm, beautiful smile across his face. The one that couldn’t help but make Ichijo’s heart just absolutely melt on the spot. “I wanna take you with me!”

He nearly spit out his water. Just the two of them, on an adventure…!? His heart almost jumped straight out of his throat.

“And your superiors are alright with it too!” Giving his trademark thumbs up, “So you don’t need to worry about that. It’s all okay!”

This was so sudden. Ichijo had dreams of going off with Godai, multiple times. It was something he yearned for deep inside. So to hear this, it nearly felt like a dream itself.

“I wouldn’t force you to come or anything. But I thought I’d give you the offer.”

Ichijo was frozen in place, but his cheeks were absolutely blazing. It took every fiber of his being to even be able to form any coherent thoughts, or words. Saying what he truly felt was something he was still getting used to.

Lumps in his throat, his heart pounded. “I would like that, very much.”

Wrapping an arm around Ichijo, Godai brought him close. His heart was full, and this was everything he could ever ask for. “Awesome! Let’s get your things ready when we get back.”

Ichijo beamed, nodding. Gently resting his head on Godai’s shoulder, looking forward to their adventure— together.
