One last ficlet of these two for Sapphic Summer! I have multiple other wips I gotta work on, so I need to focus on them since they're for October and its fast approaching.
I didn't want to end things on an angsty note for my Sapphic Summer series, so enjoy these two learning how to waltz. <3 I will be writing more of these two again! Originally posted on 2024-09-28.
Summary: Lachesis learns how to Waltz with Kyoka.

Hand in hand, Lachesis did her best to follow every step alongside Kyoka.
Earlier she suggested they’d try dancing together. It’s one of the oldest things humans have done, so to give it a shot might be helpful. Lachesis didn’t see how it could help her become more human, but she decided to amuse Kyoka for today.
After going over various sorts of dances, Lachesis settled on the waltz. That was the one that piqued her curiosity the most. The elegance on display as two people glided across the floor caught her eye.
However… Her and Kyoka were far from showing a true display of elegance.
“I should have told you I’ve never been a waltz kind of gal.” Kyoka laughed, nearly tripping over Lachesis’ foot.
Lachesis raised her eyebrow. “Why did you let me pick this dance then? We could have done something else.”
“I saw that look in your eye when watching the video.” A wide smile spread across Kyoka’s face, her eyes shone. “I wasn’t just gonna say no to that!”
There was a warmth that began to bloom in Lachesis’ chest. “You’re too kind.”
“Perhaps.” Kyoka leaned forward, gently placing a kiss on Lachesis’ forehead. Which caught her by surprise. “But I want you to enjoy the process of becoming human, you know?”
Lachesis could only smile as they continued to dance around, replicating the steps they saw in the video prior.
It was far from perfect, but that made it even all the more human.
