This takes place not too long before The Ten Years Ago Incident at the academy. So Minato would be 24 here, since the production blog stated he's 34. But this is still very much a student/teacher situation going on, so if this squicks you out feel free to pass on this one. No hard feelings!
Thank you so much to Taiga for beta reading this for me. đź’– Originally posted on 2024-10-25.
Summary: Geryon asks Minato to stay with him after class, something he is all too familiar with by now.
Also On: Ao3, Dreamwidth
The class bell rang, summoning the chatter of students as they packed up their belongings. Ready to move onto the next part of their day as they began to rush out of the room.
Geryon continued to write on the chalkboard as he was doing prior to the bell ringing. Writing out a formula that was relevant to today’s lesson. He watched his students leave through the corner of his eye, as each stroke was created by the chalk. “Don’t forget your chemistry homework, I expect it to be on my desk this time next week.”
Minato continued to stay in his seat, copying the formula in his notes. Diligently replicating each stroke of what was being laid out across the board in front of him. He knew having this on hand would be very helpful for that homework.
Daiki inched up to his senior, looking over his shoulder. Watching Minato write in his notebook with great interest. His eyes followed the movements of the pencil. All the while Kyoka was not far behind them. “Oh nice thinking Senpai! I should do that too…” Daiki began to follow suit. Though doing a bit of a hastier job than Minato.
Kyoka was also doing the same as them, having picked up on this being helpful for their assignment. Standing up with a notebook in hand right next to them.
With a final few strokes, Geryon placed down the chalk. The formula was now being written out in full. The four of them were the only ones left in the classroom as the minutes continued on, and people continued to leave. The chatter of students replaced with the sounds of pencils writing on paper.
Geryon looked over at the group of students with a smile. “Well aren’t the three of you studious? I’m pleased to see you took the extra minute to write this down.”
Minato looked up from his paper, finally having copied everything down to the littlest of details. “Thank you, Sensei.”
The look in Geryon’s eyes was one of a pleased man. As he began to tidy up his desk he said casually, “That reminds me… Minato. I need you to stay after class.”
It was a phrase that Minato was all too familiar with by this point.
“Of course.” He nodded.
Daiki nudged Minato playfully. Starting to chuckle, “Well take a look at Senpai, being a teacher's pet!”
“Suzuya!” He nudged Daiki right back, the two laughing as they began to pack up their things and get ready.
But Kyoka noticed for the briefest of moments, that there was something that flashed in Geyron’s eyes. She couldn’t tell what sort of emotion it was supposed to be, but it stuck out to her. Though she had no idea if her friends also noticed it.
She respected Geryon, he was their teacher after all. And without a doubt a talented alchemist to boot. His prowess was always on display during their lectures and labs. But there was something admittedly a little… off, about him.
He was known to be a bit more eccentric than the other teachers. And no one could ever truly guess what was going on inside his head. Nobody knew where he came from either. So many details of his life, left as a mystery to all.
But she always reminded herself that every school has their own oddball teachers here and there. The world of alchemy was no exception to this. So it was probably nothing to worry about…
Right?
There was one thing she had no doubts about though. And that there was something going on between him and Minato. But just what, she wasn’t able to tell. Kyoka hoped it wasn’t what she thought it could be. But with how often Geryon asked him to stay behind after class she couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
However, without any concrete proof there was not much she could do at the moment. The council up top were famously, or rather infamously, known for not wanting to butt into things that should have their attention. Something she’d overhear in hushed whispers by the faculty across the academy.
Minato spoke up. “I’ll see the two of you in a few moments. Now get going to class before the bell rings again.”
One day she was going to confront Minato about this. She had to.
But it looked like today was not going to be that day. Kyoka picked up her things and headed for the door. “Come on Suzuya.”
With a grin on his face, “Right!” He said with a grin on his face as he followed Kyoka, “See you in a bit Senpai.” And he left with her right after.
Geryon looked over as the door shut and the two went further on into the halls. He waited for a few moments. Then with a wave of his hand, the door was locked tight through powerful alchemy. There was no way anybody was going to get in or out.
“There. Now we won’t be interrupted.” He looked over to Minato with a knowing smile.
With a gulp, Minato’s heart began to race. This was far from his first private session with Geryon, but each and every time he could feel his heart skip a beat. He just hoped that his friends weren’t leery over how many times he was called over to stay after chemistry class.
Though he had a hunch Kyoka had her suspicions about things. She was always incredibly sharp.
“What’s on your mind, Minato?” Geryon interrupted his thoughts.
“It’s nothing, sir.”
As Minato got up from his desk and walked closer to Geryon, his mind was ablaze. With each step he could hear a voice inside, screaming at him to run away.
This was a bad idea. He shouldn’t be doing this. Geryon shouldn’t be doing this. What if they got caught? There were other powerful alchemists in the school that could easily undo his lock if it was deemed necessary. Which it certainly would, because who locks a door like that in a school environment—
Geryon placed a finger under Minato’s chin, tilting his head upwards. As if he could read his mind, “Don’t worry. Nobody is going to catch us. I promise.” There was that knowing look of his again.
Minato couldn’t deny inside that there was an allure to Geryon. Something about him that just drew him to his teacher. It was a sensation that he could never really put into words. There was always this look in Geryon’s eyes that made his heart flutter, and his body heat up.
Somehow Geryon picked up on how Minato felt about him rather quickly. And as time went on their relationship evolved into something so much more than just mere teacher and student.
Yet there was still so much he didn’t know about his teacher. Granted he wasn’t obligated to know everything about the man. But even the academy at large was on the same page as Minato. Nobody knew how old he was, or even where exactly he came from and how he got the job. Students would joke about how he just waltzed in one day, being freely given a brand new teaching job.
But the fact he was such a mysterious figure admittedly only further fueled that allure to Minato.
Despite all this he was a well respected teacher both by the students and his colleagues. Clearly very skilled at the craft of alchemy. He knew what he was doing, and did it well.
The way he would talk about alchemy was just engrossing. Able to wrap anyone up in his words of pure splendor, creating the most vivid imagery of everything this art could possibly achieve. With both of these things it was no wonder he got the job.
Minato knew this wasn’t good, but there was undoubtedly a part of him deep inside that also couldn’t help but not care about the risk all the same.
Especially not when he always praised him for his good work. Telling him about how special he was. How he was without a doubt going to be a very skilled alchemist one day. Geryon fed a part of Minato that desperately craved positive attention. A part of him that he’d tried to have kept hidden from everyone for the longest time.
But it was as if Geryon knew…and he would give him exactly what this part of him craved.
Minato looked into Geryon’s eyes. They were dark, beautiful, and unlike any he’d seen before. Adding to that very charm of his that kept Minato coming back for more -- Even if it all was a horrible, horrible idea.
“Why did you want to see me, Sensei?”
The hand that tilted up Minato’s chin slowly glided over to the side of his face, stroking it softly. Minato could feel his heart begin to pound again. Even though another part of his mind was screaming how this should not be happening. How he should be rejecting this. That he needed to run. But that side of him grew more and more quiet as he leaned into Geryon’s touch. Becoming putty in his hands.
“What if I just wanted to see my favorite student again?” He pulled Minato closer, a hand made its way to the small of his back. Closing up any space that could have been left between them. “Is it so wrong of me to want that?”
Yes. Yes it is wrong. That part of Minato screamed in the far recesses of his mind. But the other part of Minato, the part that knew what he really wanted could only disagree. Drowning it out with deafening silence as Geryon’s touch continued to envelop him.
As the voice of reason was finally silenced, Minato spoke up with a smile. “Thank you, Sensei.”
Geryon continued to stroke the side of his face, his fingers gracefully moving towards his lips. “You’re always such a good student, Minato. And good students deserve a reward…”
He pulled Minato in for a kiss. One hand holding the side of his face, and the other slowly carding through Minato’s hair. Minato wrapped his arms around Geryon’s neck, enthusiastically returning the kiss. Geryon’s lips were so soft, and Minato enjoyed the extra sensations his facial hair left on his skin.
Geryon’s tongue poked at Minato’s lips, and Minato accepted the invitation. Their tongues rolled over the other as they sucked and bit at each other’s lips.
It all made Minato’s mind become a haze, he was sucked into the moment. Melting in Geryon’s arms as they continued to kiss. Letting out a sigh as Geryon kissed down to his neck, slowly kissing and biting at the skin.
Geryon brushed his lips against Minato’s ear, “Do you want more?”
All the attention and stimulation drowned Minato in a heady feeling. “Yes Sensei, please.” He replied, his voice dripped with desire. Despite it all he needed Geryon, and needed him now.
He let out a dark chuckle. “I’ll give you exactly what you want then.”
That “meeting” took longer than expected.
Much longer.
So much so that it was now lunch time. Because of this Minato hurriedly ran over to the usual table he would eat at with a tray in hand, where Daiki and Kyoka waited for him. Both with expressions of confusion and slight concern.
Daiki was the first to speak. “Senpai! What took you so long?? You missed history class!”
“Sorry Suzuya, he needed me for something… Important.” Minato’s voice drifted off mid sentence as vivid memories of the scenes of his encounter just moments ago played in his head on repeat.
Kyoka glanced over to him, her expression not entirely convinced. Which made Minato feel a lump in his throat.
He had a sinking feeling: She had to know.
At some point she was going to confront him about this, wasn’t she? Though probably another day. And especially not with Daiki around either.
For they both knew his heart would never have been able to take it.
He dreaded that conversation more than anything. It was not a matter of if, but when. But for the time being it was best to change the topic. To not dwell on this.
Minato took out his notebook. “Anyways, tell me what I missed. I want to write it down so I can read up on it later.”
Kyoka let out a sigh. “Always focused on your studies huh? What about your lunch?”
“You’re one to talk about needing to remember to eat!”
The group laughed and briefed Minato on what he missed out on. He hastily copied down their notes, all while trying to eat his lunch at the same time.
Entering the canteen, Geryon watched over the trio, his eyes focused in on Minato especially. He smirked as he continued to watch the boy have fun with his friends.
Minato would never know what was inevitably to come. What Geryon’s true intentions were. The grand plan he set out to achieve, and would do anything to see it through. To make a reality. No matter the cost.
It wouldn’t be much longer until it was time to strike. To begin to turn the gears of what would be glorious chemistry.
And when Geryon was ready… Well. The experiment was going to be fun.
For him, anyway.
End Notes: The title is from the classic Toxic by Britney Spears. XD It's a song I associate with them for many reasons, and even put on a fanmix of mine for this ship, so I had to. Geryon is just so fun to write. He is the most horrible man alive and I love and miss him dearly. Gotchard really served him on a golden platter for me, a villain who suits all of my tastes.
I also just had to make him a chemistry teacher. XD And its fun to think about all that could have happened pre-incident. I definitely want to write more fics in this period of time in general.
