Ever since her first meeting with Lachesis, Rinne couldn’t shake the feeling she was being watched. Eyes that laid underneath a veil always being on her. Observing her each and every move.

It felt so haunting to experience.

She’d glance at the shadowy corners of a room, small areas where the light wouldn’t quite reach—nothing was there.

What was it about Lachesis that made her feel this way? It was a sensation deep inside her gut, one that she couldn’t quite put into words. Despite her inability to articulate it, that feeling was there nonetheless.

And it scared her.
