It had only been just a few days since Yuma left.

But it already began to feel like an eternity in that short span of time.

One less person to say “good morning” to, to walk to work with each day, or to talk about SKIP related matters with.

The office felt so empty without him. Not to mention a feeling that something important was now missing. Not only at work, but in Shu’s entire life. A sharp ache that he felt deep within his chest.

He glanced over to the watch that Yuma left behind in his care. Silently to himself, Shu vowed to protect it with his life. To keep it safe for whenever he would come back to Earth. That day would come—eventually.

Time continued to march forward.

Kaiju appearances have already begun to dwindle. The difference Ultraman Arc made… that Yuma made, it could never be overstated. At this rate, Shu knew it would be a matter of time before he’d receive orders to go back to the GDF.

There was a part of him that didn’t want to return.

He took pride in his work for that organization. But there was something about SKIP that had become so special to him during his term there.

Shu took a sip of his coffee, the taste and aroma was wonderful as always. But he still let out a sigh as he looked towards the phone. Waiting. There was a yearning deep within his heart for Yuma to call, or to suddenly burst through the office door.

But there was only silence. Just Shu alone with his mind as the others were out for lunch. YouPi was charging and on standby.

…A passing thought; Maybe he’d take up sculpting again to help the days go on by.
