Notes: Done for both [community profile] tokuficathon and [community profile] femslashfete! The ficathon prompt was kamen rider gotchard: lachesis/rinne - bloody kiss, and the femslashfete prompt was Alchemy. Inspired by and loosely ties into an AU by two of my friends where Rinne is evil and joins the sisters. (Love ya Melo and Courtney! đź’–)

Go here if you're interested in more of the AU! There's more links to other fics in this AU there. Which includes the one that started it.

I just had to do another fill for the alchemy prompt, it's just too good. Also the ficathon prompt inspired me to try something in that world of the AU my friends made. Once again I continue to make niche Gotchard fics, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Originally posted on 2025-05-02.

Summary: Rinne's first attempt at forbidden alchemy.

Also On: Ao3, Dreamwidth

The vial of blood glistened underneath the candlelight. Sourced from alchemists from a facility that was recently raided, and ended in absolute slaughter. Tonight was the night Rinne would do forbidden alchemy for the first time. But a demonstration of what she was supposed to replicate was in order before then.

After Lachesis did the transmutation, the latest malgam had been completed. A new monster that was forged by malice— and the blood of humans. Enveloped in darkness and ready to cause carnage across the human world. Using blood in the process of its creation made it take a shade of red. The sisters sent it out to attack not long after, looking forward to seeing what suffering it would bring to the common folk.

Rinne diligently observed every second of the process. Making sure she would do just as good of a job, if not better, when it was her turn later that night.

She had only recently joined their ranks. Lachesis never expected her out of the all humans she’d meet, such as ones like the ever reverent Shiori, to show interest in becoming one of them. Though humans always proved to be the most unpredictable.

Compared to those two, Lachesis and her sisters were each homunculi. Dolls forged of clay and various other materials. All of which possessed desires, or the shadows of them— that were just as twisted as the creator who brought her elder sisters and then herself to life. Their creator Glion taught them the ways of forbidden alchemy from the moment they were each brought into this world.

The three of them were shaped by it, and became masters of the craft over time. Creating vile malgams and partaking in all sorts of alchemical acts that would have made the Rinne of the past gasp in horror and disgust.

While Rinne joining them was a surprise, it was also far from uncommon for humans to create their own malgams.

Ever since the union was formed long ago, multiple alchemists which were once part of the union defected over the course of its longstanding history. Each of them were seduced by the temptation of forbidden alchemy and all of its endless possibilities. Dabbling with it in the darkness, and slowly learning how it worked. Far away from the eyes of the rules of the world they all turned their backs on.

Rinne was only the latest one of such. The promises that were shown to her through the abyssalis sisters and this taboo form of alchemy were too powerful for her to ignore. All of the anger and resentment she felt towards her traitor of a father turned out to be far stronger than the desire to follow the rules and be an example of what a proper alchemist should be.

He clearly didn’t follow the rules after all of his insistence on doing as such over much of her childhood… So why should she?

That was when she abandoned everyone at the Academy. It had been several weeks ever since she joined the sisters, and she hadn’t seen anyone from there since then. She was deep in the shadows, learning all she could about forbidden alchemy and everything it could accomplish. Studying how the craft worked so she could become better at it.

It was only a matter of time until she would do battle with her former allies. But that time was not tonight.

As Lachesis prepared for the upcoming ritual, curiosity got the best of her. She wanted to see how Rinne’s alchemy would fare in creating a malgam the most out of her sisters. Especially through this specific method; one that involved using blood in the transmutation process. It was a very forbidden technique, and certainly Rinne had never worked with before.

How would this mutt’s creation be compared to hers? Would it work, or would things go horribly wrong?

She just had to know.

It was now midnight. All four of them were in an old abandoned church deep in the forest far from the nearby city. It was a common place for the sisters to scheme, as well as create malgams and do other sorts of forbidden alchemy. Not to mention the key they began to work on. The one that would open the door of darkness.

The ritual was about to begin.

Rinne looked over the chemy cards that were spread out across the table. She was given complete freedom to choose, it was all up to her to pick who would be her victim. Each of the creatures inside shook with fear. Dreading what was to come next. They were sentient beings and completely capable of knowing when something bad was about to happen, something the sisters all took delight in.

After a moment of contemplation, she picked Stagvine as her subject for the night.

The chemy trembled inside the card and muttered its name as she placed it on the altar. The moon outside shone down through the stained glass windows.

Rinne glanced behind her. The three sisters lied in wait to see what would happen next. Lachesis made a gesture with her hand that clearly said “get on with it already”.

Well she couldn’t keep them waiting, now could she?

A pop came out from the cork as she opened the vial. She looked at it and saw her distorted reflection within the glass, symbolizing the path she had now taken. The blood was then poured onto her hand, dripping off her fingers as droplets made their way to the floor. Her ring was now covered in blood too. Slowly seeping underneath the metal that wrapped around her finger.

Rinne then placed her bloodied hand onto the card. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, “Let darkness engulf you.”

Her ring then shone bright, and all of the blood began to flow inside the card. Enveloping the unfortunate chemy that dwelled inside it. Tarnishing the very place it called home since all those years ago when it and the rest of its kind were sealed by the alchemists. Stagvine screamed out in pain as blood began to stain every centimeter of the card. Both the card and the chemy began to turn a dark red. Something that could only be achieved by forbidden alchemy.

As Rinne took a step back, the card emitted a burst of darkness that pulsated throughout the entire church. After a moment a twisted creature then emerged. Just like the previous malgam, its body was also red exactly how Lachesis' was in the demonstration prior. This transmutation looked to have been a complete success.

She felt some relief. There were twinges of doubt if she could pull off this sort of alchemy like the sisters. This was her first time doing forbidden alchemy. Especially a technique like this. But her worries were now proudly disproved.

Clotho’s eyes widened as she grinned manically. “Very nice!”

“It looks like you can do this after all.” Atropos spoke up, her voice echoed across the room. “I’m impressed.”

Rinne turned over and bowed to them. Grateful for the praise from those she swore her allegiance to. “I’m honored, thank you.” Atropos was the leader of them all, so to hear that from her was a great sign of things to come.

Lachesis smirked as she walked over to Rinne, taking Rinne’s bloody hand into her own and slowly stroking it. “I’m also impressed.” Her own fingers became stained with blood. “My mutt did such a wonderful job today.”

Rinne bowed again, “Thank you Lachesis-sama.”

“You can drop the formalities… For right now, anyways.” Lachesis chuckled with a gleam in her eye, as she brought the bloodied hand to her lips. Covering them with the blood from the transmutation like it was a morbid lipstick. “After all, good dogs deserve a reward.”

Lachesis leaned forward and she brought Rinne into a kiss. Her fingers went through her hair as she gripped it and pulled her towards her. Staining Rinne’s lips with blood. It was symbolic, to make her lips the same red as the malgam she had created. The taste of iron began to flow into Rinne’s mouth as she returned the kiss. And she was grateful for the display of appreciation.

This marked the end of the ritual, and the beginning of her continued walk down the winding path of darkness that she was dead set on going on.

Rinne had no regrets about her choice.
