toku100challenge, prompt was beginnings. (DW Link) Pollen allergies has made it hard to make things as of late. Both art and fic. But I saw the first two episodes of Ryuki last night and felt inspired. Originally written on 2023-04-30.

Shinji said it himself— He was the sort of person to stick his nose in everywhere. Tearing the only route out of this situation split in two with his hands, the pieces of the card fell onto the ground. The sound echoing. A choice was made. Yet he was ready to run in headfirst into this new, mysterious, and dangerous world.
Shrill sounds from the window pierced his ears. As he looked down at the contract card, determination coursed through him. As the dragon rushed towards him, their pact was set.
He was now forever intertwined into this endless battle.
