Contemplation

Did she deserve any of this?

To be given a new chance at life. One as not a homunculus, but as a human. Someone with limbs of flesh and blood running through her veins. Not of a creation of alchemy and malice imbued by her creator, her father— Intertwined with a past life, of only which she just learned about.

After all she’d done to them… Did she truly deserve this? All the choices she’s made up to this point. The lives she had ruined, countless people having been hurt by her hands. Creating countless creatures of malice and hatred at the whims of her father, whims she once thought and saw as her very own.

Compared to the darkness that lingered around Lachesis, Kyoka was such a bright soul. She had shown only eagerness to learn more about her, and to figure out a way for her to become human.

Did she truly deserve to be given this chance at a brand new life, one where she had full control? And with the help of someone who’d only shown kindness to her, and interest in improving things for her?

She wasn’t sure.

What had been done was done. She can’t go back and change the past. Powers such as that didn’t exist, as far as she was aware of.

Kyoka saw the sadness in Lachesis’ eyes as she contemplated in the corner. Holding her close, not letting go.

Lachesis didn’t have the heart to tell her what was wrong.
