Another Argument, Another Kiss

Shinji and Ren had another argument. That was far from uncommon, the two bickering was a daily occurrence. (Sometimes near hourly on certain days, on occasion.) What was just as frequent was Shinji breaking more of the dishes in the back.

It was a sort of miracle that Auntie allowed him to keep working there, Yui thought to herself.

The pair had a particularly nasty spat earlier after a new dish broke. Ending with Shinji crossing his arms in a huff and walking away, grumbling somewhat incoherently. While with Ren you could see how he was just seething in total frustration. They didn’t talk to each other for the rest of the day after that.

Up in their shared room, Shinji stared at the ceiling. While Ren laid on his back, his eyes closed as he rested. But you could tell he was still awake and trying to avoid any sort of eye contact.

With a sigh, Shinji figured it was time to try and make some form of amends. It would do neither of them any good if they were like this all week.

Shinji spoke up, “Hey, Ren.”

No response.

He tried again. “Ren.” No answer. Visibly sounding more frustrated this time, “Hey! Ren!” Once again, no response.

Oh, that was it.

Making more grumbled noises under his breath as he stomped over to Ren’s side in a huff, Shinji clumsily grabbed the sides of Ren’s face. Before Ren could even react, Shinji hastily pulled their faces together kissed him in a desperate attempt to get something out of him.

To Shinji’s credit, his idea worked.

“What the hell was that for?!”

Shinji turned his head to the side, almost petulantly. “You weren’t responding to me. I’m trying to make things up with you!”

Despite the frustration across his face, his cheeks still flushed just a little. “Why you little…”

In an instant, and before Shinji could say anything, Ren pulled him right down onto the bed with him.
