Tokuhols 2022
Another Toku Holiday Special, is an annual Holiday Toku exchange! I've also seen it dubbed as Tokuhols for short. 2022 was my first year participating in this event!

It was a fun experience. At the time I barely only had seen enough Toku to be eligible to sign up, and I had to learn how to format an exchange letter for the first time.
I really love the gifts I got, and to experience this exchange for the first time! Toku centric fandom events aren't very common. This is the most consistently happening one. I will be taking part in future ones for years to come!

Dear Another Toku Holiday Special Creator,
First and foremost, thank you! I am super excited to see what you will create.
I am happy with either fic or art and don’t have a preference. I’ve got a list of my DNWs, as well as likes for certain prompts, either they be ships, solo character work, as well as kinks for my ships listed.

Ideas For Fic: Ankh is an interesting character to me, I love his development in the show. Plus I find his origin (as well as the Greeed’s as a whole) just super interesting. So I’d like to see a character study or introspection either Pre or Mid-Canon.
Some prompts are:
• His relationship with the Old King.
• His relationship with the Other Greeed.
• His relationship with Eiji. (Can be romantic, or platonic, or even both!)
• His relationship with Eiji and Hina.
• His relationship with Shingo, or both Shingo and Hina.
• Looking into his thoughts during various events of the show. You could pick from any event in the story from any of the 3 arcs.

As said above, this was my very first time ever having done an exchange letter. It took a lot of work to think about it, especially the DNWs section! I studied other exchange letters from other past events to help get an idea of what do to for mine.
It makes you think about what you like and what you don't like. But also you can learn about even more specifics of what your tastes are. Just one example such as you'd only want to read a story/see art that had X if Y also was a part of it. Otherwise X would be a DNW. Or something that is normally a DNW you'd be okay with seeing, or even like seeing but only in certain circumstances!
Or you do like X thing, but just don't want it as a gift for whatever reason. I learned there are tropes and such I'd love to read on my own but not get as a gift. Or just make it myself entirely. And it's a DNW for events because there is a lack of control over how X or Y is done. Especially if the person is a total stranger and doesn't know your tastes.
As I made more exchange letters, I became able to describe my preferences for things a lot more in specific and felt I was better at conveying what I do want. Making this letter was a real learning experience for me.
There are things I would have done differently for this letter, such as different wording on my note on dynamics for AnkhEiji and having a bit of a preference for that. In my 🔗Sakura Exchange 2023 letter I felt I worded it a lot better and something that is more accurate to my feelings. Because I mentioned it's less common out there, so I just like to see more works with that dynamic being made.
In retrospect that is a very obvious wording choice I could have made and detail I could have added... But at the time I was very stressed and hurt my head a bit trying to make an exchange letter for the first time. I gotta be nicer to past Linky.
In the end I'm still very reversible. (Even if I'm in a specific dynamic mood at a specific time. It's like craving a certain snack. Even turtles can have specific cravings too at times!)
Even if I was given a gift with EijiAnkh instead of AnkhEiji, I would be just as happy. Loving multiple dynamics means you also like the one that is less popular too, it comes with the turtle territory. (I just enjoy biodiversity!) I just like seeing my boys.
This was a learning experience, and built the foundation for future letters too! The more you make these, the easier it gets.
